Dr. Leighton Flowers is an esteemed Professor of Theology at Trinity Seminary and the engaging host of the widely acclaimed theological broadcast, Soteriology 101. He is an author, with three notable books to his name: The Potter’s Promise, God’s Provision for All, and his latest release, Drawn by Jesus.
He dedicated over two decades to Texas Baptists, leading out in Evangelism and Apologetics. Leighton travels globally, conducting evangelism and apologetics seminars, participating in debates, and leading training conferences. During his time as Director of Youth Evangelism, he oversaw Super Summer and Youth Evangelism Conferences, impacting thousands of teenagers with evangelistic messages and missions mobilization. Leighton has also been involved in ministries like See You At The Pole, a global prayer movement started by his father, reaching people worldwide.
Leighton earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Theology from Hardin-Simmons University (1997); a Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (2000); and completed his Doctorate at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (2016).
Leighton and his wife Laura, a Licensed Therapist in Richardson, have four children (Colson, Cooper, Esther and Caden) and live in North Garland just outside of Dallas. Prior to coming on staff with Texas Baptists, Leighton served as a pastor in the local church for over 10 years. He and his family are members of First Baptist Richardson.
